Active Start

Wascana Rhythmic Gymnastics Club offers our Active Start recreational program for children 2 to 9 years old.

 

Stepping Stones: (ages 2-3 years)

Agility, balance and coordination are taught through fun and games.

Classes are 30 minutes in length. Sessions are offered in the Fall, Winter, and Spring. Parents can be involved in the class depending on the comfort level of your child.

 

Next Steps: (ages 3-5 years)

Children work on basic movement skills and build towards acquiring more complex skills that lay a foundation for lifelong physical activity.

Classes are 45 minutes in length. Sessions are offered in the Fall, Winter, and Spring.

 

Mini Rhythmic Steps: (5-6 years)
Mini Youth Team: (6-10 years)

Shorter sessions of our Performance Programs -- we begin to target skills such as running, jumping, tossing/catching, balancing and body awareness.

Classes are 45 minutes in length. 

 

Mini Acrobatic Skills Team (ages 7-12) 

Perfect for energetic boys and girls to learn fundamental skills in a group environment such as rolls, handstands, cartwheels, bridges, walkovers, object manipulation, tumbling and partner work. Ideal for further acrobatic conditioning of those already taking dance, skating, artistic gymnastics.

Prerequisites:  basic acro skills (bridges, cartwheels, handstand basics, rolls); no previous rhythmic gymnastics experience needed
