Circus Arts

The Circus Arts Program is coming to Wascana Rhythmic Gymnastics Club this Winter!  There will be 3 classes, divided by age, run on Sunday afternoons.

 

Overview
This program uses basic artistic and rhythmic gymnastics skills to teach circus arts. It is open to children 3-12 years old at varied levels of ability. No gymnastics experience is required.


Objectives
Participants will have fun while learning various circus disciplines and techniques.
Acrobatics
Concentration and Perseverance
Motor skills and Coordination
Headstands and hand balancing
Loco motions such as spinning, jumping, tumbling, and climbing
Object manipulation – tossing/juggling
Acro fitness


Coach
Amanda Brodner, NCCP Level 3 Artistic Coach and NCCP Level 1 Rhythmic Coach (as of Nov 1, 2015)


Classes and Location
The program will run 10 weeks beginning Jan 3 – March 27, 2016 (no classes possibly Feb 14, 28 and Mar 6). Three classes will be held in the upper gym at Westminster Church between 1230-4pm.
Circus Arts (3-4 year olds) 45 minute class
Circus Arts (5-7 year olds) 1 hour class
Circus Arts (8-12 year olds) 1.5 hour class
